The cultivation of floribunda roses is becoming more and more popular among gardeners, and it is no coincidence. Their name translates as "ever blooming", which is true and is a distinctive feature of this group of flowers. Floribunda will decorate the garden all summer long until late autumn.

This hybrid group of roses is obtained by crossing tea, nutmeg and polyant roses, incorporating the best qualities:

  • abundant and long flowering;
  • resistance to diseases and pests.

Even a novice gardener can take care and grow floribunda roses.

Floribunda rose: planting and care in the open field

Rose propagation is possible in 2 ways:

  • cuttings;
  • vaccination.

The first option is simpler and will be more acceptable for beginners in this business. For cultivation, you need to prepare cuttings from the stiffened trunks of the plant in the spring. It is recommended to make slices with a sharp knife at an angle of 45 ° 0.5 cm below the bud, about 8-20 cm long.Further, it is worth preparing a nutrient soil for germinating cuttings: 2 parts of soil from the garden, peat, humus and sand, taken in proportion to 1: 1 ...

Important! When choosing a place for planting, the basic rule must be observed: direct sunlight should not fall on the germinated cuttings, especially at noon, when the sun is very active. For planting, it is better to choose a shaded place, for example, in a garden under the crown of trees or under the wall of a house.

After cutting, the cuttings should be dipped with a cut, which will be placed in the ground, in a growth stimulator and deepened by ½ the height. After that, you should mulch the soil around the cutting with grass, foliage or expanded clay.

All cuttings should be planted at a distance of 15 cm from each other, covered with a plastic bottle or cake box. Seedlings should be regularly watered, loosened and ventilated. For the winter, just before the very frosts, they need to be insulated with leaves, covered with an approximately 20-centimeter layer. And when the heat comes, immediately peel off the leaves so that they do not overfill.

The cuttings are germinated in one place for 2 years, removing the buds that have appeared so that the plant does not waste energy and nutrients for flowering, but directs them to the development and strengthening of the root system. For 3 years, preferably in early spring, the plant is transplanted to a permanent place.

Note! When choosing a permanent location, it is worth considering that floribunda is a thermophilic plant, which is best planted from the southern, southwestern or southeastern sides. The rose will respond to the bright rays of the sun with abundant and long flowering.

In order not to wait for the first flowers for 3 years, you can buy an already grafted plant and plant it immediately in open ground. This can be done at any time, even in summer in August.

To do this, you need to dig a hole 40 * 40 cm and a depth of 40 cm, fill it with 0.5 buckets of nutrient earth and plant the plant, deepening the root collar (plant grafting site) by 2-3 cm.Thus, the hybrid will give shoots, and not scion (usually a rosehip). After planting, water the seedling abundantly, but not at the root, but in the groove made around the rose.

How to take care of the rose further

It doesn't take much trouble to grow floribunda roses. Basically, caring for her consists of:

  • timely watering;
  • regular weeding and loosening of the soil around the plant;
  • summer feeding;
  • trimming bushes;
  • sheltering the plant during winter frosts.

Rose loves regular and abundant watering. The ground near it should be almost always wet. Untimely and irregular watering will lead to the fact that the rose will begin to shed flowers and buds.By autumn, the irrigation procedure is reduced so that the plant does not give new shoots, but prepares for winter.

Regular weeding and loosening of the soil will keep the floribunda from rotting the root system, which can lead to the death of the plant.

Weeding and loosening the soil regularly is the best remedy for rotting

Also, the rose needs frequent feeding, starting from 2 years of planting, so that the bush is powerful and blooming all the time. To do this, you can apply organic and inorganic fertilizers 1 time in 10 days in turn. First, you can fertilize with humus, and after 10-15 days with urea, saltpeter or any inorganic complex for roses.

The main pruning of shrubs is carried out in early spring, completely removing branches that are older than 2 years, and the remaining shoots are reduced to 4-6 buds. You can also trim the tips of the branches in the summer for more active flowering of the bush, as well as in the fall to prepare the plant for winter. Branches and leaves cut from a rose in autumn should be burned so that pests do not winter there.

Note! For the northern regions and Siberia, it is better to choose roses of Canadian selection, which are more frost-resistant. It is better to shelter plants from frost just before frost, and remove the pillow from the leaves immediately when the heat comes.

Floribunda roses will adorn any summer garden. Each gardener will be able to find "his" variety in this group, both in color and in the structure of the bush and the inflorescence itself. After that, the main thing is to follow the rules of planting and leaving. And then the “queen of flowers” will delight you with her lush bloom!
