Roses are the perfect decoration for any garden plot. In order for the plant to please with long flowering, attractive appearance and aroma, you should pay attention to the Grand Amore variety. It appeared in Germany in 2004. When creating it, breeders sought to improve the indicators of resistance to variable weather conditions, frost, diseases and pests. These roses are unpretentious to care for, a novice gardener will cope with their cultivation.

Description of the variety

Rose Grande Amore belongs to the group of hybrid tea roses. She stands for a long time after cutting.

The rose bush can exceed a height of 80 cm. The width of the growth of the bush reaches 40 cm. The branches are neat and straightforward. The rose grows rapidly. At the end of each stem, a dense, bright red pointed bud is formed. When blooming, large flowers take on a goblet shape. Each flower contains up to 35 satin-like petals. Flower diameter 9-10 cm.

Rose Grand Amore

The stems of the rose are long. A large amount of young foliage blooms on them, which over time changes shade from a reddish-brown hue to a dark green. The leaves perfectly complement the bright, rich flowers that are resistant to dry and rainy weather.

Note! Flowers tend to bloom slowly, which allows you to extend the flowering time.

The Super Grand Amore rose variety has larger flowers. In the second year, their diameter can be 20 cm. These flowers have an unusual smell and neat even petals. The variety is characterized by resistance to diseases and a high index of frost resistance. Long bloom: from the beginning of summer until the first frost.

The main competitor of the Grand Amore is the Englishwoman Brother Cadfael. The main difference between Brazet is that the flowers have a diameter of 15 cm, and the width of the petals is 7 cm. The variety also has a high resistance to diseases and winter cold. Blossoming at Brase Catfael roses lasts from June to the beginning of frost. In terms of color beauty, the Blue Nile variety can compete with the Grand. It also belongs to hybrid tea roses. Neil has a lavender-blue color of petals, a mixed aroma in which notes of citrus, fruit and tea can be discerned. The variety tolerates frosts well down to -35 degrees, which allows it to spread throughout the territory of Russia. But Blue Nile is not resistant to diseases of black spot and gray mold.

Agrotechnics

For Grand Amur roses, they choose sunny areas without cold drafts. The acidity index of the soil can vary in the range of 5.6 - 7.3 pH. When preparing the planting pit, it is important to provide a good drainage layer that will keep the plant from stagnant water. Sand or gravel works well with this function. A hole is dug to a depth of more than 50 cm.

For planting roses, a soil mixture is prepared, which includes:

  • 3 parts of manure,
  • 2 parts of fertile soil,
  • 1 part peat
  • 2 pieces of sand.

Important! The optimal time for planting Grand Amore is early May, so that the soil has time to warm up enough.

Before planting, you should inspect the condition of the seedling. If the seedling has an open root system, it must first be soaked in water for several hours. The damaged parts of the root are removed.Shoots are also shortened, thereby cutting off weak stems to stimulate the growth of stronger branches.

Care

Watering frequency is determined based on weather conditions. On average, it is once a week. In dry weather, you can additionally irrigate the plant. Up to 5 liters of cold water are consumed per bush. Do not allow water to get on leaves, stems and flowers. After flowering, watering is not carried out until spring.

Do not allow water to get on leaves, stems and flowers.

Fertilization is carried out in the spring before flowering and in the middle of summer. To do this, use ready-made complex formulations or folk methods. Among the folk methods are:

  • Feeding with chicken droppings. It is combined with water in a ratio of 1:20, fermented for 5 days and again diluted with water 1: 3.
  • Feeding with cow dung. To prepare the solution, the proportion of 1:10 is observed. The solution is infused for 7 days, and then diluted with water. One part of manure accounts for 2 parts of water. A solution based on cow dung is not applied at low temperatures, since it may not be absorbed.
  • To prepare the solution, you can use a tincture of tops, chopped grass and weeds. These components fill the container by ¾, add 2 tablespoons of soda ash. The remaining space is filled with water and left to ferment. Then filter and dilute 3 parts of the infusion with 10 parts of water.

Note! Weeds that have reached insemination age cannot be introduced into such a tincture.

Organic fertilizers have a good effect on the development of young plants. For more mature bushes, minerals can be added. For example, 20-30 grams of ammonium nitrate per 1 square meter.

To stimulate flowering, potash-phosphorus fertilizers are applied in spring. To do this, 10 g of superphosphate and potassium sulfate are dissolved in 10 liters of water. The procedure is repeated in the middle of summer.

Weeding will help fight unwanted weeds and keep your garden clean.

Pruning

To maintain the shape of the bush, timely pruning should be carried out. The procedure is carried out three times. The first pruning is aimed at removing diseased and damaged stems. The second pruning is done in the summer. During this period, wilted flowers with a small section of the stem are cut. Pruning in the fall helps to prepare the plant for wintering by pruning broken, long and thin stems.

Timely pruning is necessary

Reproduction

For cuttings, shoots are chosen that are already half woody. Young shoots, shoots fed with nitrogen fertilizers are unsuitable for grafting. The best time for cuttings is early morning, since the shoots will absorb all the juices during the night. After the procedure, the cuttings are placed in bags filled with water.

Pests and diseases

The following diseases and pests may be the most dangerous for hybrid tea roses:

  • Aphids, caterpillars, beetles. To combat insects, use the preparations Confidor maxi, Acrophyte.
  • Powdery mildew. Bordeaux liquid, 0.2% balayton solution or 1% topaz solution are used against it.
  • Black spot. To fight, use a 0.1% topaz solution or 1% sulfur solution.
  • Against the soot bloom that occurs on the leaves due to a colony of fungi, prepare a solution based on soap and alcohol.
  • Gray mold attacks buds, shoots, leaves and flowers. Leads to the death of the plant. Sick areas are removed, the rest of the plants are treated with horsetail decoction.
  • Viruses carried by insects. Damaging the plant, they slow down development. For prevention, seedlings must be disinfected.
