Features of growing crops

The best time to plant fruit trees is autumn. At this time, the seedlings are sleeping, which is why they better tolerate planting. Also, until spring, they have time to settle down and strengthen, therefore, from the beginning of April, forces will be spent on growth and development.

Important! You can plant a tree in spring, but it is better to do it before the tree wakes up and lets out the juice.

Planting a pear Fairy Tale is carried out in a specially selected and prepared place, since only in such an area will the plant bear fruit well.

When choosing a landing site, you need to consider:

  • depth of groundwater;
  • the depth of the clay layer (3 m and more).
  • illumination of the site. The place should be on the sunny side. It is undesirable to choose a place for planting near which buildings are located, since a pear can spoil the foundation.

You should choose a place with a flat area, away from buildings and other trees.

Before planting a seedling, it is advisable to enrich the land. To do this, 3-4 weeks before planting, you should dig a hole, clean it of debris and roots, and fill it with fertilizer. You should also reduce the acidity of the soil, for which you should also add wood ash. The hole must be at least 75 cm deep and 1.4 m wide.

Important! You should not use fresh manure, only diluted and well rotted.

Before planting a seedling, you need to get rid of rotten and diseased roots and shoots. It is also recommended to trim too long. Before the procedure, it is advisable to rinse the cut site with warm water. Trimmed roots must be treated with crushed activated carbon.

Important! If the roots are dry, then the seedling must be held in water before planting. You can lower the whole plant into it if the stem is also dry.

When burying the seedling, it is recommended to shake it a little to get rid of the void in the ground. After the seedling is set in the hole and rammed, it is recommended to make a hole around it. This is necessary so that all moisture reaches the lower roots, and does not stagnate on the surface. At the end of planting, the tree should be watered (20 liters per seedling).

Further care

The fairy tale is unpretentious, but in leaving it is worth considering some nuances:

  • Timely watering... Water the tree when the soil dries up. In dry weather, you will need about 5-6 buckets, 2-3 is enough for a seedling. More abundant watering is needed during flowering and ripening of fruits. Be sure to pour water at the root.
  • Top dressing... The soil depletes over time, so from time to time it needs to be enriched. The needs of a plant depend on time. The first 3 years the Fairy Tale should be fertilized with ammonium nitrate. In subsequent periods, organic fertilizers are used. It is advisable to check the salinity and acidity of the soil every few years and, if necessary, reduce the percentage. The pear should be fed in spring, autumn and during the period of fruit formation.
  • Pruning... You need to prune the pear every spring. The procedure should be carried out with care so as not to damage healthy branches. After pruning, the damaged areas must be coated with clay and fertilizer must not be applied to the ground for one month.
  • Treatment from pests and diseases... The pear is immune to many diseases, but under unfavorable weather conditions or when a neighboring tree is infected, there is a risk of catching the infection. To prevent the tree from getting sick, in the event of situations that pose a threat, preventive treatment is required. In spring and autumn, the plant must be sprayed against pests. In summer, it is recommended to coat the lower section of the trunk with lime.
