The Taiga grape is a frost-resistant varietal shrub, and one of the most productive, which is easy to grow even for a novice gardener in any climatic conditions. In Russia, the cultivation of this variety began in the Primorsky Territory, and when it became known about its excellent tolerance to frost, this culture quickly became popular everywhere.

Description of Taiga grapes

A noticeable difference between the bushes is their tall branches, which give an increase of 5-7 meters every year. With a good season, this variety will yield more than 100 kg per year.

Most often, harvesting is possible already at the end of August. Under favorable conditions, the bunches usually reach 200 g, and large clusters weigh 500 g. The color of the fruit is black, the shape is round. The berries have a slightly sour taste, which is explained by the low sugar content - only 20%.

Taiga grapes

The vineyard can easily endure the first frosts, heavy autumn rains, and has good disease resistance. However, during the first year, branches and fruits may be affected by mildew.

Important! Since it is a bisexual type of grape, it has good adaptability to adverse external conditions, which develops over time.

Agrotechnics

Planting seedlings usually begins in spring, when the ground and air have warmed up enough. Although if the site is in a warm enough region, seedlings can be planted in September. For better adaptation of the plant and a rich harvest, they need to be planted from the south side - this will protect the plant from the hot sun in summer, and in the cool season will provide better soil heating.

There should be enough space on the site, for each bush you will have to free up an area of at least 3 m and ensure the optimal distance between the rows - 1.5 m.It is also necessary to immediately install supports for the vine.

Note! One of the most important needs of this plant is a sufficient level of soil moisture. Therefore, young shrubs need to be watered regularly while they take root.

In dry weather, you can safely water every other day, it is best to do this in the early morning or evening. However, do not abuse watering during prolonged rainfall - the plantings will have enough moisture, watering should be reduced to once a week.

Watering the grapes

An integral part of grooming is seasonal pruning twice a year - in autumn and spring. This procedure will provide disposal of dead parts of the bush, where ailments can most often multiply, and space for the development of fruits.

Although this species is frost-resistant (up to -32), to be sure that the plant will survive the winter, it is recommended to insulate it with a tarpaulin or sprinkle it with earth. Especially in areas where there is little snow. Every year, the plant will get used to a specific climate more and more, and subsequently will acquire a good root system.

Additional Information! The main advantages of this variety in comparison with others are that it does not need additional mineral or organic groundbait.

The only fertilizer that can have a positive effect on growth and yield is manure, which contains a sufficient amount of trace elements. Fertilizers must be applied to specially dug holes 40 cm deep or combined directly with watering the bushes.

Thanks to such pickiness, it will be possible even for a novice gardener to grow these berries.
