Many gardeners like to grow unusual varieties that can surprise neighbors and delight household members. The tomato Aurica, or Auria, deserves the attention of summer residents. This variety of tomatoes has many different names: Female joy, Fun, Adam, Auria, Manhood, Lady's whim. The variety was created relatively recently in Israel and is zoned throughout Russia, Ukraine and other regions. Ogorodnikov are attracted by the unusual shape of the fruit, pleasant taste, high yield.

Features of the Auria variety

To decide whether an unusual plant is suitable for the site, you need to learn more about the Auria tomato and get acquainted with the characteristics and description of the variety. Auria is an indeterminate variety of tomatoes. Their stems resemble vines with unlimited growth. The stems are capable of reaching two meters in height, with an average number of leaves. The branches need to be tied up. Plants can be planted in open ground and in a greenhouse. In both cases, the Auria tomato gives an excellent harvest. The number of branches is small.

Auria is not a hybrid, according to the time of fruit ripening it belongs to a mid-season variety. From the moment of sowing the seeds to the formation of the first ripe fruits, 100-110 days should pass. On each bush, about 14 brushes are formed, on which, on average, 8 elongated red fruits are formed, the tips are forked. This form is a varietal feature. Fruits weighing up to 180 grams, on average, 80-150 g, have a length of 12-14 cm. The branches are thin so that they do not break off under the weight of tomatoes, it is recommended to remove excess ovaries. Ripening occurs from the second half of July to September.

Important! Aurica tomatoes are very thermophilic. Therefore, in the northern regions, they can only be grown in greenhouses.

Auria tomato variety resistant to common diseases, cracking, high-yielding.

In the longitudinal section of the fruit, you can see two chambers with a small amount of seeds. The subcutaneous layer and the flesh have a firm consistency. Tomatoes are not watery, fleshy, sweet. Suitable for both salads and homemade preparations for the winter. Ideal for canning as a whole, easily pass into the neck of the cans, compactly stacked. Due to the dense pulp, they do not fall apart and do not crack. Tomato ketchup is thick and tasty. Can be used to prepare caviar and other canned foods.

Features of growing varieties

You need to buy seeds first. Requirements for the composition of the soil, watering, care during the periods of sowing seeds, growth of seedlings do not differ from the conditions used for other varieties of this culture. There are some peculiarities when caring for mature plants.

Growing seedlings

This period starts in February. Seed material needs to be prepared. The quality of future seedlings depends on this stage, and as a result, the entire crop:

  • The seeds must be sorted out. You should choose only full-fledged specimens of the largest size, and it is better to throw out the small change. Defective seeds should not be left either;
  • The selected seed is placed in a salt solution. Let them sit there for 15 minutes. During this time, all full-weight seeds will be at the bottom, and defective specimens will be on the surface. Anything on top should be thrown away. The remaining seeds must be washed;
  • To wake up from a dormant state, it is recommended to hold the seeds in hot water, and then in cold water. You can put it in the refrigerator, then pull it out and put it by the battery. It is recommended to repeat this procedure 2 times;
  • For the prevention of diseases, the seeds are placed in a weak solution of potassium permanganate for half an hour;
  • To accelerate seedling, it is better to germinate the seeds in advance. For this purpose, they are laid out in shallow dishes, a little water is poured so that the seeds are half covered with liquid;
  • When the seeds are swollen, the water must be drained, covered with a cloth, and slightly moistened. Warmth is needed for rapid germination. After a while, sprouts will appear.

Now the seeds are ready for sowing, in the southern regions you can sow directly on the site, in most regions containers filled with soil are used. You can grow seedlings in a greenhouse or at home on a windowsill.

Important! Soaking is carried out for 12 hours. The seeds need to be washed regularly and be sure to pour fresh water every 4 hours.

Seeds are placed 3 cm apart, deepening 6 mm. Then the containers are covered with a polyethylene film to maintain an optimal microclimate. When small shoots appear, the cover is removed. Watering should be done in moderation, little by little, but regularly. When the seedlings grow up, they need to be fed. It is advisable to plant the plants in separate cups.

In order for the seedlings to be strong, they must be hardened before planting in place. It is necessary to put it outside or open a window on warm days so that it gets used to the action of the sun and wind.

Transplanting

You should choose an illuminated place, but protected from strong winds. Precursors for tomatoes can be beets, beans, radishes, peas, carrots, beans, lettuce. Any organic matter should be added for digging, one bucket per square meter. Plants are planted in a permanent place in June at the beginning of the month. It is possible in May, but it is necessary to build a film shelter to protect it from frost. Care is the same as for any other tomato varieties.

Sprouted seed preparation

Some features of care

For the formation of a large number of fruits, many nutrients are required. For tomatoes to have the strength for a large harvest, they need nutritional support in the form of organic and mineral supplements. Tomatoes can withstand drought, but it is best to water them regularly and abundantly. The ground under the bushes should always be moist and loose. When the weather is cloudy, watering once a week is enough. But on hot days, you need to water after about three days.

Council. After a forced drought, do not over-water immediately. It is necessary to moderately moisturize, and after a while do additional watering. Moisture should flow evenly to the roots.

Auria tomatoes must be pinned. It is recommended to remove all excess shoots and form the tomatoes into two stems. The stems are tied to the support. Clusters with fruits, of which many are tied, are very thin, they can break under the weight of tomatoes. Supports are placed under them. Extra ovaries should be removed if there are more than 6 or 8. It is necessary to leave the largest tomatoes and remove the smaller ones. Leave 2 or 3 sheets next to each of the brushes, and remove the rest. In the lower part, you also need to cut off excess foliage.

Remove shoots

If the soil on the site is fertile, three dressings per season are enough to get an excellent harvest:

  1. During the transplanting period;
  2. When it's time to bloom;
  3. When forming ovaries.

If the land is not nutritious enough, additional fertilizing is needed, the mode of which is selected individually.

Advantages and disadvantages

The variety has a number of advantages:

  • Abundance of fruits;
  • Excellent taste properties;
  • Can be used for salads, ideal for all types of canning;
  • Can tolerate drought;
  • Resistant to disease and cracking;
  • Fruits are not damaged during transportation, retain their presentation for a long time;
  • It tolerates temperature changes normally.

There are not so many disadvantages:

  • The branches are very thin, they can break from heavy fruits on the brushes;
  • Tomatoes cannot be stored for a long time, they need to be processed quickly.

The positive properties of tomatoes of the Auria variety prevail over the negative qualities with a clear preponderance. Branch breakage can be avoided by using props. And there is no need to store fresh crops for a long time, because it is more suitable for canning, it tastes much better in processed form than other varieties.
