The F1 tomato variety Azhur was registered as a new vegetable crop in 2007. It has become popular among vegetable growers, as it has not only high productivity, but is also resistant to late blight, black leg, cracking and drying of fruits.

Cultivation process

It is recommended to grow the F1 tomato variety using the seedling method. Tomato seeds Azhur are sown for seedlings 45-60 days before planting in the garden (closer to mid-March), after they have been soaked beforehand. The container in which you plan to sow seeds must be disinfected, only then filled with prepared soil.

To improve the germination of seeds, experienced gardeners recommend soaking them before planting in a biostimulating solution, which also has protective functions ("Zircon", "Elin"). The soil for seedlings, like the soil for planting tomatoes, should be loose and enriched with nutrients. If the soil does not meet these indicators, then ash, sand and humus must be added to it.

Cultivation of culture

Additional information. Ash is an excellent source of potassium, and many pests cannot tolerate it.

Process growing a crop is as follows:

  1. The container in which you plan to sow the seeds must be disinfected, then filled with prepared soil, before sowing the soil must be moistened. Sow seeds in a prepared container at a distance of 1 cm from each other and 1.5 cm deep;
  2. Then cover them with foil and leave for 3 days before germination;
  3. As soon as the first leaves appear, pick the seedlings;
  4. Transplant the seedlings into individual containers. Add peat-humic fertilizers to the soil and moisten. They will stimulate the growth of seedlings;
  5. Place the seedlings in a well-lit room with a temperature of 25 C. Water the seedlings in dosage so that the leaves do not turn yellow;
  6. If the soil has already warmed up to 15-16C, then you can safely plant seedlings in the beds. Pre-treat the seedlings with copper chloride. In this way, plants can be protected from fungi. It is better to plant bushes after lunch, when the sun is no longer so active;
  7. Since tomato bushes are quite compact, plant them at intervals of about 50 cm in holes watered with water.

Important! For normal growth and good fruiting of tomato Azhur, the most important conditions are sufficient moisture and warmth. Therefore, it is possible to plant in open ground only in the southern regions of the country. In areas with colder climates, the crop is planted exclusively in greenhouses.

Though this variety has good immunity to diseases and heat resistance, it still needs care and preventive measures, namely:

  1. In feeding with fertilizers. It is imperative that at least three dressings be done per season;
  2. In correct and regular watering. After planting, the plant cannot be watered for a week, you need to let it take root. When watering, water should not fall on foliage and fruits;
  3. In timely loosening and weed control;
  4. In good lighting;
  5. Although the height allows you to grow a bush without tying it up, the brushes with fruits are so heavy that you cannot do without this procedure. Otherwise, the branches will simply break under the weight of the fruit. For garters, pegs or linear / frame gratings can be used;
  6. It is necessary to remove stepchildren that lead to excessive branching of the bush. Shading is formed, which slows down the ripening of tomatoes and increases the likelihood of disease. It is necessary to remove the stepsons in the morning so that the wound dries quickly.

Harvest

On note. The fruits will be larger if only 2 or 3 of the most developed clusters are left on the plant, and the others are removed.

For a rich harvest, try to observe the crop rotation of vegetable crops. Tomatoes take root best in the soil where cabbage, zucchini, onions or carrots used to grow. It is not recommended to plant tomatoes near eggplants or potatoes, as these crops are prone to the same diseases and pests.

Tomatoes growing next to potatoes are at risk of being eaten by the Colorado potato beetle or other pests.

Tomato variety Azhur is most often attacked by slugs and spider mites. The mite will help defeat the soapy solution, just wipe or spray the foliage with this product. It is easy to get rid of slugs with ground pepper or ash. It is only necessary to scatter the agent between the rows.
