Productivity - in open field 2.7 kg / m², in greenhouses - up to 15 kg / m².

Appointment - salad, for canning whole-fruit. Tomatoes with a low liquid content are not suitable for making juices.

Additional advantages and features of the culture - resistant to unfavorable growing conditions: drought, high temperatures, cold. Fruits with thick skin and early ripening are resistant to late blight. The fruits are not affected by disease and ripen even on a lodged bush.

Agricultural technology varieties

The finger tomato is grown from seedlings from our own or purchased seeds. The timing of planting is adjusted, depending on the region of growth, the average for early maturing varieties is 55-60 days, adding about a week for seed germination.

It is undesirable to plant seedlings earlier than the terms, the parameter of which is declared for the variety - this can provoke its stretching. The elongated stem becomes thin and weak, buds may not set on it, it will be difficult to transport and plant it. Overgrown seedlings slowly adapt to a permanent location and do not give an early harvest.

Growing

Seeds of quality producers are sorted and pre-sowed. Prepare your own homemade seeds for planting using a step-by-step technique:

  • Select even, healthy specimens, rejecting small and empty ones. When processing a large number of seeds, they are immersed in a saline solution, in which the empty seeds will float, they must be removed, and the remaining full-fledged ones rinsed with water;
  • To improve the germination of seed, before planting, it is heated at a temperature of 50 ° C for 5 minutes;
  • For the prevention of many diseases, the seeds are disinfected in a solution of dark-colored potassium permanganate for 20 minutes, then washed with water;
  • To accelerate germination in the soil, seeds are pre-germinated in a damp tissue, not allowing it to dry out, for 2-3 days or until a sprout appears;
  • Additionally, the seeds are treated with freshly prepared solutions of growth stimulants, they actively awaken dormant seeds and prevent various diseases.

For the treated seeds, prepare the soil for planting. To do this, they purchase a ready-made substrate for a tomato or prepare a soil mixture on their own. For seedlings, you can take in equal parts garden sod land, peat and humus. The soil of its own workpiece tends to accumulate diseases and become poorer after previous plantings, so it needs to be disinfected by steaming and fertilizing. For fertilization, take 1 glass of ash or 1 tbsp. l. dolomite flour, 1 tbsp. l complex mineral fertilizer, for example, nitrophoska. Complex fertilizer can be replaced with the following composition: 1 tbsp. l. superphosphate, 1 tsp. urea and potassium sulfate. The indicated volumes are calculated for 1 bucket of potting soil.

For sowing seeds, different planting containers are chosen, for further transplanting, common boxes are used, without intermediate transplanting, seeds are planted in separate containers. The containers are filled with soil and watered with settled warm water. To drain off excess moisture, it is imperative to make drainage holes from the bottom of the container. In sowing boxes, grooves are made with a depth of 1.5 cm at a distance of 5 cm, the seeds are laid out at intervals of 3 cm. Several seeds are laid out in separate glasses at a distance of 3 cm from each other, and then one strongest sprout is left. The seeds are covered with 1 cm of moist loosened soil, lightly pressed without watering.

To create the desired microclimate, the containers are covered with foil or glass and placed in a warm, dark place.

Important! Seedlings can be placed near batteries, but not on top of heating appliances.

It will take 4-6 days for the first loops to appear, after germination the film is immediately removed and the seedlings are placed in a bright and cooler place. Coolness is needed so that the root system can develop and strengthen at a temperature of + 15 ° C. If, when straightening the loops, the seed shell is attached to the cotyledonous leaf, it must be removed, otherwise the sprout will die. You need to carefully remove the rest of the seeds by moistening it with water; when it swells, it easily separates.

When growing with a pick, transplanting seedlings into separate, more spacious containers is done in the phase of the appearance of two true leaves in the seedlings. When transplanting, the seedlings are buried to the cotyledon leaves.

Additional Information. Tomatoes do not like thickening, containers with seedlings should be placed evenly for light and airing.

The strongest plants are chosen for transplanting into the ground, the weaker ones can be planted separately or not at all. Lead plants when planted together will take light and nutrition, and smaller plants will always lag behind. Before planting in the ground, it is better to water the seedlings in advance to reduce their fragility.

Fertilization of the soil at a permanent place of growth is carried out a week before planting seedlings. It is not recommended to apply fresh manure, only rotted manure. Mineral fertilizers are applied to the soil individually or in combination, then loosened, watered.

Fertilizing tomatoes

For planting low-growing Finger tomatoes, the distance between the bushes is 30-40 cm enough. Seedlings are planted with an earthen clod, if grown correctly, it should be completely braided by roots. Depressions are made in the ground, humus, ash are brought in, spilled, mixed, so that a slurry is formed from water and earth, then a seedling is placed in it. The tomato hole is covered with earth and squeezed tightly. It is advisable to cover the soil, mulch with humus, peat or special dark material.

Important! When transplanting, the roots should be injured as little as possible, which increases the adaptation of the plant and the further growth rate.

Variety Ladies fingers is unpretentious in care, does not need a garter and pinching.For the safe cultivation of tomatoes, you will need abundant leveled watering and loosening. Excessive watering is harmful to the plant and reduces the accumulation of taste in the fruit. At the time of the onset of ripening, watering is stopped, the next watering is performed after the next picking of tomatoes.
